Eleventh Annual New Play Festival

Join us on Saturday, September 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center as we present our winning scripts in a staged reading.

9:30 a.m. - HMS Headwind by Michael Gordon Shapiro, directed by Andrew Troth

10:00 - No Flash Bright Enough by James Sievert, directed by David Otto Simanek

10:50 - Candlelight by Matthew Carlin, directed by Don Cosgrove

11:15 - We Gather Together by Vicki Riba Koestler, directed by Rebecca Rizzio

1:15 p.m. - BREAK - during this break, we will play some musical selections from Maggie the Pirate by Joshua H. Cohen and James Armstrong

1:35 - InSex by Jeffrey Neuman, directed by Scott Pakudaitis

1:55 - Assisted Living by Jeffrey Newman, directed by Ashley Davis

2:25 - Missing by Robin Pond, directed by Andrew Troth

2:50 - Thorns by Michael Peroz, directed by Laura Bidgood

4:50 - Retirement Party by Ron Frankel, directed by Trish Fike

Each reading will be followed by a brief discussion of the play with the audience, lasting 10-15 minutes. After the final play reading of the day, the audience will have a chance to vote on the Best of Festival. Admission is free and you may come and go throughout the day.
